LPVROP Student Summit
October 2011
Nineteen ROP students from Bassett HS, La Puente HS, Los Altos HS, Nogales HS, Rowland HS, Santana HS, Wilson HS, and Workman HS, were brought together on October 24, 2011 to attend an ROP Student Summit. Students were randomly chosen representing the ROP demographic profile. The students were transported to AQMD in Diamond Bar and enjoyed a continental breakfast and pizza luncheon. At the Summit students were separated into groups where they discussed and answered questions that will help enhance the ROP classes. Most interestingly, students agreed that ROP classes should be 75% hands-on with 25% lecture. This was a great opportunity to expose students to networking and collaboration. In addition, students were able to learn leadership skills by presenting their ideas to the group.
