What is a Regional Occupational Program (ROP)?
ROP is a career technical program geared toward providing career training opportunities in a variety of career pathways which can assist you in obtaining the job skills necessary for immediate employment or prepare you for a college education.
Why should I take an ROP class?
There are various benefits of taking an ROP class. High school students can earn credits toward graduation, and learn about careers which may assist them in choosing college majors and enhance college admission applications. High school students will gain experience required for immediate employment; gain skills that will allow for entry/reentry into the workforce, new careers or changes in careers; or have the opportunity to participate in internships.
Who can take ROP courses?
The program is available to high school students.
How do I know what courses you offer?
To find out what courses we offer check out our course catalog which you can obtain by downloading a copy from our website or by contacting your counselor.
How can I register for a course?
To register, high school students should see their high school counselor. Students attending alternative high school programs may register in person at the ROP administration office.
Where and when are classes offered?
Classes are offered at high schools located within three participating districts, during and after school, evenings and Saturdays. Classes are generally one semester in length. See course schedule for start dates.
