| | "My 2010 Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference at Ontario was thrilling. It was an experience I will never forget and always be thankful for. It inspired me to keep pursuing my dream and anything is possible if you have a deep strong passion for it. Being on that stage holding our bronze medal was an unexplainable feeling. We accomplished our goal and left satisfied." Rocio Arrellano-grade 11 "Hosa is a great organization that helped me open my mind to the health field. It is a wonderful experience to work as a team and to win a 2nd place medal. I appreciate all of my advisors and I give a special thanks to all of them." Laura Mora - grade 12. "After experiencing a really busy year of HOSA and achieving a silver medal I feel like I have fullfilled such a high goal. From this great program I have learned how to prepare myself for a future career in the medical field." Viviana Zarza - grade 12. "Hosa was an amazing educational experience that we all got to enjoy. We would like to thank everyone who helped to make this possible, winning a silver medal in Community Awareness was great." Arlin Echeverria - grade 12. "HOSA was a great experience for me as well as everyone else that participated. The competition was hard yet it motivated me to work harder and push myself. Though my group did not win the Biomedical Debate we proved ourselves and did the best we could. I was, however, awarded the Gold Medal for Outstanding HOSA Chapter. Our time in Ontario was a new and interesting experience." Rosanna Pena - HOSA President 2009-10.

“…ROP has helped me in numerous ways with not only my career goals but also with my lifestyle. Before I took ROP I was not confident in with myself at all. It never crossed my mind that I would be able to perform in front of people and not be afraid of them. I have become confident with myself and also am able to show more confidence when I am performing.” Jaime “Being able to be part of an ROP class such as the HVAC class has made an extraordinary impact on my life….. My future goal is to graduate with a master’s degree in nursing. Now I know that is a total opposite from my HVAC class, but believe it or not, that ROP class has made me learn a lot; not just hands-on training or how refrigeration and air conditioning works, but actual customer relations skills to help me with my career.” Victorea
“Entering high school as a freshman, my career plans were least to say non-existent. Since then joining the ROP Manufacturing Technology class, my mind has been cleared of any doubts I had and has set a clear path for my future. My ROP class has proven to me how far technology can be taken to improve our community.” Alex “…Because of this ROP class I have been offered a full-time job at ACCO Engineered Systems as a service technician and this company supports their employees that continue their education by paying for part of their schooling. This will encourage me to continue going to college so that I can become a mechanical engineer in HVAC. All because of this ROP class….I will soon be following my career goals by becoming an HVAC Technician and mechanical engineer.” Adrian

“My ROP Forensic Science and Automotive classes have given me opportunities to really look into a career and decide if it’s for me by providing hands-on training and instructors who are willing to really watch and help you expand your knowledge with what you’re working on. The ROP classes don’t only provide hands-on training but they also have showed us what it takes to get a job from the application, to dressing for the interview, to the actual interview. I think that students who really strive to be successful should take an ROP class in the field of their choice because it provides you with so much useful information and is a great help with really getting into gear as we enter “the real world”.” Cassandra “In my ROP class I have learned that no dream is unattainable”. Tyler “My ROP class has helped lay the foundation for my career goals. Without this class, I might still have been confused on what career or field I wanted to pursue when I enter college”. Skylr “All in all the ROP class is nothing but extremely helpful to me in advancing my career goals.” William “Whether I choose to become a doctor or a psychiatrist, ROP Childcare has proven to be a vital part of the process leading me toward my profession. Because of ROP Childcare, I will be able to reach out to more people, and eventually help save the world.” Josh “Forensic Science is by far one of the most interesting classes that I will ever take. The labs we do, the information we receive daily, is so interesting that once I exit high school I will find myself pursuing a career in forensic science…” Ian | |
