Purpose: 

The purpose of the business summit is to bring industry leaders, teachers and administrators together to discuss and address current labor market trends, employer needs for a skilled workforce and any other workforce issues and concerns.  Input gathered will assist us in development of quality career technical education.

Benefits of participation:

As a participant you have the opportunity to provide valuable input to assure that critical skills are being taught so students are better prepared for the workforce.  Participants review the curriculum, competencies and equipment needs for the related occupation. This input will help improve the quality of workers in your industry.

Benefits for teachers:

Teachers who participate will have the opportunity to learn first-hand from industry experts what it takes to be successful in the occupation they are teaching.  Teachers will be able to ask questions, participate in discussions and validate their course curriculum.  Teachers benefit from the confidence that they will be providing quality CTE instruction to their students that is relevant in the current workplace.

Students invited to attend will have the assurance that they are learning skills that employers require. Students will also be able to participate in discussions related to the course of study.
