| | The 2010 Student Recognition Program Cover Contest in underway! All LPVROP students are eligible to enter. The winner will have their cover produced for all guests attending the 2010 Outstanding Student Recognition Program, and will receive an award of $100.
2010 Program Cover Contest La Puente Valley Regional Occupational Program Educational Bridge Foundation LPVROP and the Educational Bridge Foundation are seeking cover art entries from LPVROP students for this year’s student recognition program. This annual program is given to all student recognition supporters and attendees. The first place winner’s work will be chosen as the cover of the student recognition program. The winner will also be featured in the program. OFFICIAL RULES FOR THE STUDENT RECOGNITION COVER CONTEST 1. Any student currently enrolled in a LPVROP class is eligible to submit ONE entry by Thursday, February 18, 4 pm to the LPVROP Education Center, 18501 E. Gale Avenue, Suite 100. Late entries will not be accepted. 2. All entries must reflect the theme of Student Recognition. 3. The maximum size of the design should be 11 x 14 inches. 4. The entry should be multi-color on white or off-white unlined paper. 5. Any art or computer media may be used. 6. All entries will be assigned a number and judged on: a. Carrying out the theme of student recognition. The official title for the cover is “La Puente Valley ROP Student Recognition Program”. The cover must include the date: April 28, 2010. b. Cover must include both the LPVROP logo and the Bridge Foundation logo, which are available electronically through your ROP Guidance Specialist. c. Effective use of color d. Creativity e. Craftsmanship, clarity and neatness f. Ability to be effectively printed/reproduced 7. The first place winner will be selected by an independent panel of judges. The winner will receive an award of $100 for his or her work. 8. Winner will be announced by March 30, 2010. 9. No artwork will be returned. 10. All artwork should be accompanied by the entry form below, containing all necessary contact information, signature of the parent/legal guardian, and ROP teacher. These signatures grant the student recognition committee the right to use winner’s name, entry and photograph for publicity purposes. 11. By entering the contest, entrants accept and agree to these rules and the decision of the judges which shall be final. 12. Student agrees to make any modifications to artwork requested by LPVROP in a timely manner.

| | La Puente Valley ROP has been approved as an I-TRAIN provider for adult students who are seeking to train or re-train for career success. Classes for adults include Physical Therapy Aide, Medical Assistant, Computer Accounting, Microsoft Certified Applications Specialist (MCAS), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and a variety of Public Safety and Forensic Science Courses.
If you are an adult student who is currently unemployed or are participating in federal or state assistance programs, you may qualify for free tuition. Please contact your local ONE-STOP JOB CENTER for more information and eligibility requirements.

| | Helping Students to Meet Standards and Pass the CAHSEE The California Department of Education adopted the first complete set of standards for Career and Technical Education in May, 2005. La Puente Valley ROP supports the integration of the standards in the ROP courses offered at the high school campuses and Education Center programs. The adopted standards include support for students in achieving academic skills needed to pass the CAHSEE exam. | |
